Three Bags, Three Ways

So I bought these three canvas bags in a pack at Wal-mart and
studied on what I might use to decorate them.
Since they were plain canvas and all.

I found an idea on Pinterest and copied it. I use this bag to tote my Bible and notebook to church.

I chose bunting for this next one, which my daughter can. not. stand. She's 16, and she knows everything. Trust me.
Everything. I did, too, when I was 16. I sure
wish I could get back my 16-year-old mind, but that's
a topic for another day.

The third idea was a single ruffle; my daughter thinks it needs
something more. She's not sure what, but something.
Hey, maybe she doesn't know everything, after all.

So it's your turn to vote.

1. Which is your favorite?
2. What's your take on the bunting bag?
3. Does the single-ruffle bag need something more, and if so, what do you suggest?

I really can't wait to read y'all's ideas!

Hugs ~ Mary

  1. Good morning Mary, You've done a very nice job on each bag and have decided on a use for them also.
I, personally, like the third bag with the red ruffle~~~~red is my favorite color.
I have a daughter also, who is 36. I know how 16 year old girls can be.. They are sweet though, gotta love them..
Best wishes for a great weekend.

  2. Hi most talented Mary! These little bags are darling! Of course I think your little model is a cutie. I think I knew everything too when I was 16! She'll get over it. :) Well, I love your 1st one with the ruffles, but the bunting one is darling too! It's a toss up between those.
    Be a sweetie,
    Shelia ;)

  3. I love the first one with three ruffles. It's my favourite. The bunting bag looks great... it works for me. I have to agree with you daughter re the single ruffle bag, but like your daughter, I'm not sure what it needs.

  8. Hi Mary,
I love them all! I got a freebie canvas bag at a mall event one time, but it had the sponsors name on it, so I made ruffles, much like the first bag and covered the sponsor name, and now I use it all the time to tote my knitting to and from places. I think the bags are all three adorable!!!

  16. I like them all and love the bunting ;)
I may be partial, but I think the single ruffle bag needs a big red heart OR you know how we southern gals love to monogram anything, so maybe your "M"

my favorite is the ruffled one, but, I LOVE the bunting one! and the red ruffled one is really cute too, but I do agree that it needs something else, not sure what, maybe a a big flower near the bottom right or left side?
16 year old daughters are always smarter then then their mothers! lol!

  21. Your bags are so cute, but your model is gorgeous! It's funny, but when I saw the first one, I liked it the best. But then came the one with the bunting. I think it looks so cute. Finally, I think I'd have to choose the last one as my favorite - if the ruffle goes all the way around the bag. You did a great job on all of them!

  22. I like the middle one and the last one needs a red cut out strawberry or two on it

  26. I like all 3 bags. The single red ruffle is my fav. Think the single ruffle is perfect to add a large pin, to one side. I have several pins that are made from a single color of different types of vintage buttons. I love them but find them too heavy to wear. Also I could see seasonal pins on the ruffle.
