Little Shelf Tweaked

Well, good Monday morning, glad you stopped by!

I wanted to show you this thrift-store shelf that's been on my bedroom wall for the last two years. There were two problems:

1. The shelf was drab.

2. My jewelry was tangled up in a jewelry box.

Finally I had an idea: turquoise check fabric (from my stash) to drape it. Mr. Redo added nails across the bottom ... I know, I'm so fancy, nails no less, but I knew they wouldn't show after I hung all my costume jewelry on them.

Then the fun began. I added several childhood pictures, a jar of clothespins, pin cushion, little blue plate, and a spool of
baker's twine.

Lastly I gently gathered this tiny bird into my hands and placed him there on the shelf. He was the crowning touch. Just what my little shelf needed.

Now every time I see my little shelf, or remove a piece of jewelry, I smile because I'm loving the newly tweaked shelf.

And I'm sharing this at Brenda's party:
